For most of my life, I lived by other people’s instructions. I tried to do the right thing, the sensible thing, the expected thing. And I did it well -but somewhere inside, I always felt a quiet restlessness, like something important was waiting for me. At 33, I finally allowed myself to stop and listen. I didn’t suddenly become brave or confident, I just became honest. I admitted that I wanted to tell stories. I wanted to draw. I wanted to create. And the moment I said that out loud, it felt like a deep exhale.
Becoming an author and illustrator isn’t a career switch for me – it’s a return to who I’ve always been. Through simple words and gentle illustrations, I create stories that feel safe, real, and full of heart.
This brand is built around me and my journey into children’s storytelling and illustration.
What started as curiosity slowly grew into a love for creating gentle stories and characters that feel warm, playful, and full of heart. I create with the hope of bringing a little sense of wonder into a child’s world , through simple stories, soft illustrations, and moments that feel comforting and familiar.
Everything I make is guided by imagination, kindness, and joy, and is designed to grow alongside me as I continue to write, illustrate, and share new stories.
Letters from Bari is a very personal journey for me. It grew slowly, from memories, feelings, and a need to return to something familiar and safe. The name Bari comes from Ba and Ri—the first initials of my parents. In many ways, this space carries their presence, the love I grew up with, and the childhood that shaped me without my realising it at the time. Bari is where memories and imagination meet, where small moments are allowed to exist quietly.
